A 60-year-old Hays man was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ellsworth County Monday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1996 Cadillac Seville driven by Thomas Wayne Zimmerman, 60, of Hays, was traveling westbound on I-70 shortly after 3 p.m. Monday. Around mile post 213, three miles west of 12th Road, for unknown reasons, the vehicle entered the median and struck the crossover, then rolled into the westbound lanes of traffic, coming to rest on its top.

Zimmerman was transported to Hays Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. It is not known if Zimmerman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
