WICHITA — A Lyons woman was taken to Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Tuesday after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a Freightliner on I-135 near Zoo Blvd. in Sedgwick County.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports Lesa Kay Hale, 59, suffered injuries that appeared to be serious while the truck driver, Samuel J. Wolf, 70, of Wichita, had no apparent injury. Hale was driving a 2004 Honda Element and was in the right lane at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when she made an abrupt left turn while attempting to make a U-turn through the median. Wolf was in the left lane traveling north and the 2005 Freightliner struck the Honda in the left lane.

KHP reports Hale was not wearing a seat belt but Wolf was.
