Motorcyclist injured on U.S. 56

A man driving a motorcycle was injured Saturday morning outside Great Bend when the rear tire blew out. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 8:18 a.m. on U.S. 56, 2.25 miles west of Great Bend. Grant L. Ahlman, 45, of Norfolk, Neb., was traveling east when the tire blew on the 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He lost control of the motorcycle, which rolled. He was not wearing a helmet.

Ahlman was taken to The University of Kansas Health Systems - Great Bend Campus with suspected serious injury.
