Motorist injured in hit-and-run
on the record

A hit-and-run injury accident was reported at 3 p.m. Friday at Walnut Bowl, 3101 Washington St. According to the Great Bend Police Department, a vehicle pulled from the driveway and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Jim Potter, 28, of Great Bend, then left the scene. Potter tried to avoid a collision but the other vehicle struck the Avalanche on the rear of the passenger side, causing it to flip and roll.

Potter crawled from the vehicle uninjured, but his 27-year-old passenger had a cut on his foot. It did not require medical treatment.

Police later located the suspect vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, near the home of its owner, Abraham Ramirez, in the 800 block of Kansas Ave. Samples from the bumper were collected and Ramirez received multiple citations.
