Barton County Sheriff

A semi-trailer driver hauling round bales rolled his trailer around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at NW 20 Ave. and NW 30 Road. He was not injured, but the road was blocked for a time.

 

Great Bend Police

Kaytlyn Johnson was turning onto 23rd St. from Washington and struck a vehicle driven by Sara Bruce who was stopped at the stop sign at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday.

Someone entered a vehicle at 2006 Main and stole two packs of cigarettes, it was reported Tuesday night.

George Weber was drive east on Third St. at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday and the trailer became detached from his vehicle, hitting a fence.

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made nine ambulance runs on Monday and eight on Tuesday. There was a vehicle fire at 421 Walnut St. in Heizer at 8 p.m. on Monday. They found flames coming from the engine compartment of a sport utility vehicle. Damage was heavy; the cause was undetermined but not suspicious.
