Barton County Sheriff

Talon Finnigan, Great Bend, sustained minor injury Monday in a rollover accident just north of NW 10 Ave. and NW 50 Road. He was driving south at 1:50 p.m. and lost control of his vehicle, a Geo Metro, on the sand road. The car entered the ditch and the wheels dug in, causing it to roll onto its top. Hoisington ambulance responded, but Finnigan refused medical treatments. Kansas Highway Patrol assisted the Barton County Sheriff’s Office in working the accident.

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made two ambulance runs on Monday and had two false alarms. They were also dispatched to a small grass/ditch fire on K-96 and NW 80 Ave. at 4:45 p.m. While en route, they were advised the fire was out.

 

Ellinwood Fire Department

There was a small grass fire in the 500 block of SE 110 Ave. at 5:26 p.m. Monday.

 

Great Bend Police

An officer attempted to serve a warrant on Kimo Martinez, 24, at 10:43 p.m. Monday, at 1109 Main St., and he fled on foot. He was later captured and arrested.

A gas skip at 2337 Washington St. was reported Monday morning.

A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at 3503 10th St., it was reported Monday.

Theft of a purse from a vehicle at 2712 Quivira Ave. was reported Monday.

Logan Reinert was driving west in the 3500 block of Forest (at Polk St.) at 1:05 p.m. Monday and struck a vehicle driven by Charles Keener, who was waiting to make a left turn.

Forged checks at local businesses were reported by a bank Monday.

A woman was served a notice to appear in municipal court after allegedly stealing two coats from the Orscheln Farm & Home Supply store at 5320 10th St. on Monday.

The mirror was broken on a vehicle at 2123 17th St. and yard ornaments were stolen, it was reported Monday evening.

A burglary at 5501 Ninth Lot 17 was reported Monday night. Someone broke into the residence and took several items.
