Great Bend Fire Department

A burning mattress in the ditch at SE 10 Road and U.S. 281 was extinguished at 10:33 a.m. Tuesday. The half-burned mattress also ignited some grass.

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Tuesday.

 

Kansas Highway Patrol

Nicole G. Sultzen, 33, of Littleton, Colo., was driving west on Interstate 70 in Russell County at 1:10 p.m. Monday and went off the roadway into the median. She over-corrected and her Honda passenger car went across the roadway and into the ditch, rolling one complete time to land on its wheels. She was taken to Russell Regional Hospital with a possible injury. Her passengers were not injured and all were wearing safety restraints.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury accident involving a BCSO officer occurred at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday in Ellinwood, at East First and North Bismark Ave. Kansas Highway Patrol handled the report.

 

Great Bend Police

Tuesday reports:

A vehicle parked in the alley behind 1315 Hubbard St. had a broken window.

Two men allegedly stole a 24-inch flex LED light from AutoZone, 2219 10th St.

A motorist in a Ford Ranger pickup left the business at 2334 Main without paying for $40 worth of fuel, at 8:12 p.m.
