Great Bend Fire Department
A motorist driving toward Albert on K-96 at 2:42 p.m. Sunday pulled over and noticed fire under the vehicle. Damage was estimated at $2,200.


Barton County Sheriff

Theft of a power washer from a residence at 167 South U.S. 281 was reported Tuesday.
A two-vehicle, non-injury accident with damage under $1,000 occurred on North U.S. 281 and NE 30 Road at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Great Bend Police
Tuesday reports:
James Hook of Great Bend was arrested at 7:43 a.m. after a theft was reported at the Dillon’s store at 1811 Main. He was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of bond.
Tracy Ellis was driving south on Washington at 11:01 a.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Leona Duft, who was eastbound on 24th St. Ellis was arrested for traffic violations and suspected narcotics were found in the vehicle. Ellis was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Andrew Leroy sustained minor injuries at 12:56 p.m. when pulling onto 10th St. from a private drive and falling off his vehicle. Leroy refused medical treatment.
Alexander Smith was driving east on 24th St. at 3:29 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Sabrina Flores, who was stopped in traffic. Smith then left the scene and was located at 29th and Gano. He was cited and released to a parent.
A male left 1701 Main St. at 5:06 p.m. without paying for several items.
Jamie Wagner was driving north on Madison turning west on 18th St. at 7:09 p.m. and struck a parked vehicle.
Lincoln Templeton was in a vehicle backing in the 3100 block of Forest Ave. at 8:18 p.m. and reported struck a parked vehicle, then left the area.
The driver of a blue PT Cruiser left 3907 Broadway Ave. at 11:46 p.m. without paying for fuel.
Theft of a cell phone from a vehicle at 1300 Kansas Ave. was reported at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday.
