Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle driven by Nathan Donner hit a deer in the 300 block of NE 190 Road at 6:36 a.m. Monday.

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, a motorist reported that a tire came off a pickup and a piece of metal hit the windshield of the vehicle behind it, just west of Albert on K-96.

A vehicle driven by Debra Mitchell was traveling west on NE 60 Road at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and hit a deer. The airbags deployed, injuring the arm of a passenger. Hoisington Ambulance transported him to Clara Barton Hospital.

Great Bend Police

Monday Aug. 8 reports

Someone entered the co-op at 1600 Kansas Ave., took flashlights and fire extinguishers, and damaged the property. Loss was $400.

A female allegedly stole $46 worth of items from the Walmart Supercenter. A video was booked into evidence.

A vehicle driven by Mark Moran was northbound on Patton Road at 3:35 p.m. when an item fell off the trailer, striking a vehicle driven by Kay Eberhart that was behind him at 10th and Patton.

A vehicle driven by Jose Vasquez was backing south on Main near 24th St. at 4:13 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Ann Palmer, who was stopped in traffic.

Police issued an attempt to locate notice for a known female after a woman reported the suspect coming at her with a black baseball bat in the 1500 block of Adams St., around 6 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Eric Likes was eastbound on 16th St. at 9 p.m. Monday and struck a parked vehicle in the 1600 block. Likes was arrested for driving under the influence, illegal transportation of liquor and minor in possession. He was booked into the Barton County Jail and released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.

A window on a vehicle in the 300 block of Walnut St. was broken.

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made three ambulance runs on Friday. There were no fires.
