Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Thursday.

At 4:30 a.m. they were dispatched to U.S. 56 and SW 80 Ave. to assist the Pawnee Rock Fire Department; one of LD Drilling’s tank batteries had a natural gas leak. LD Davis arrived on scene to shut down the well.

 

Great Bend Police

Thursday reports:

A subject in a white pickup was reportedly seen stealing an air compressor out of another vehicle at 55 Fifth St.

A vehicle driven by Casey Shuey was backing from a private drive at 2615 Lakin Ave. at 6:51 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by David Hester.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A white government truck, possibly a mail truck, reportedly threw a rock and hit a vehicle window in the 200 block of North U.S. 281 around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

A non-injury rollover accident was reported at 7:57 a.m. on SE 30 Road and SE 30 Ave., a sandy road. The vehicle was an Oldsmobile Alero.

Theft of a portable radio from the Beaver Fire Department, 1908 Elm St., was reported Thursday.

Theft of company equipment, criminal use of a financial card and criminal damage to property by an employee at 1000 NW 10 Ave. was reported Thursday.
