Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made 10 ambulance runs on Wednesday.
At 3:45 p.m. they were dispatched to 214 East Barton County Road for a truck with hot brakes.
At 5:50 p.m. they responded to a vehicle fire at Second and Frey St. A pickup owned by Rick Hopkins  was northbound on Frey when the fire started in the engine compartment. Chief Mike Napolitano said when firefighters arrived the truck was fully involved in flames. The pickup was a total loss.

Barton County Sheriff
A burglary at 507 SE 67 Ave. was reported Wednesday.
A criminal damage to property case was taken at 2522 Broadway Ave. at 6:53 p.m. because the Great Bend Police were busy with other calls when a burglary alarm went off at that address.

Rounds of .303 ammunition were found in the 5200 block of Eighth St. and turned in as “found property” on Wednesday.
A vehicle driven by Terry Rebel was eastbound in the alley at 1315 10th St. at noon and struck a vehicle driven by Zaira Huitron, who was leaving a driveway.
Someone threw a brick through a window at 1615 Tyler St., it was reported Wednesday.
Officers received two reports of sex offenses on Wednesday evening. Additional information was not immediately available.
