Barton County Sheriff

A motorist drove left of center and struck a guard rail on a bridge in the 100 block of U.S. 281 at 12:24 a.m. Wednesday. The driver was not injured but was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Tuesday. There were no fires.

Tuesday reports:

Someone broke the back window out of a vehicle at 216 Holland St. Loss was $200.

A girl’s bicycle was stolen from 2201 Sunset Road. Loss was $100.

A vehicle driven by Matja Lovric was northbound in the Burger King parking lot at 3920 10th St. at 9:11 a.m. when the driver suffered a medical emergency. His vehicle struck a parked vehicle, forcing it into three other parked vehicles. Lovric was not injured in the accident but was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

Someone damaged seven decorative lights in front of the convent at 3600 Broadway. Loss was $400.

There was a $33 gas skip at 3907 Broadway at 5:42 p.m., involving a black car, and a $50 gas skip at 1315 10th St. at 6:03 p.m., involving a gray Ford Mustang.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 3720 10th St.

A citizen reported a suspected burglary in progress just before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block of Timber Creek Road. He saw two males being dropped off in the area and thought they were attempting to get into a parked vehicle. They left with entering the vehicle or causing any damage.

An ice chest was taken from a truck in the Highland Hotel parking lot, 3017 10th St., it was reported early Wednesday.
