Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Wednesday. There was one fire call to 1206 Patton Road, which was a false alarm.

 

Hoisington Fire Department

A shed was on fire in the 400 block of South Vine St. at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday. Loss was estimated at $2,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Hoisington Police Department and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

A vehicle driven by Audrey Davis was westbound on the U.S. 281 Bypass at 7:31 a.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Ronald Herold, who was turning onto 24th St.

A license plate was stolen from a vehicle at 5400 24th St.

A subject reported unauthorized use of a bank card used to pay bills.

At 4:52 p.m., a subject reported a known person had shoplifted at Dillon’s, 4107 10th St. The suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court on that charge, and was arrested for suspected possession of marijuana.

Someone broke the back door to the residence at 1010 Hubbard St.

A vehicle driven by Bernadine Maneth was turning west onto Broadway in the 2200 block at 6:43 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Escabodo, who was traveling east.

Forgery cases were taken at 4107 10th St. and 1811 Main.

A vehicle driven by Jeremy Lehmkuhl was eastbound on Lakin Ave. at 2:25 a.m. Thursday and struck a parked vehicle, which was pushed into another parked vehicle. The driver was arrested on for suspected drunk driving.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A recliner was on North U.S. 281 between 80 and 90 Road at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.

An adult male was reportedly battered at 317 First St. in Olmitz on Wednesday. A family member said a known male and an unknown male walked into the house and beat up the victim, who was being taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington at 9:45 p.m. for stitches. The house was also reportedly damaged.

A vehicle hit a deer on K-156 and NE 120 Ave. at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday.
