Kansas Highway Patrol

Three people were taken to Ellsworth Medical Center on Sunday afternoon, after a one-car rollover on Interstate 70, nine miles north of Ellsworth. The driver of the Nissan Altima, Mala A. Alahmadi, 24, of Lawrence, was westbound at 2:15 p.m. when she was reportedly distracted by a cell phone and drove off the edge of the roadway into the median. The driver over-corrected, coming back across I-70. The car then rolled three times, coming to rest on its wheels in the north ditch. Alamadi and passengers Sunayn Mullick, 20, and Mygabi A. Byenkya, 20, both of Lawrence, were all wearing seat belts.

 

Great Bend Police

An identity theft can was taken Thursday after someone reportedly used a Great Bend resident’s information to file a tax return.

A vehicle driven by Richarn Musil was northbound on Washington St. at 5:06 a.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Kayli Harris, who was eastbound on 10th St. and failed to stop at the red light. The Harris vehicle was pushed into a vehicle driven by Soleda Pineda.

A vehicle driven by Carla Wilhite backed into a parked vehicle in the 1400 block of Eighth St. at 12:32 a.m. Friday.

A 21-year-old male was battered by several people at Heizer Park, it was reported Friday night.

A known person allegedly entered a residence at 213 Pine St. late Friday and battered the reporting party. Notices to appear in municipal court on charges of battery and criminal trespass were signed but not issued.

A vehicle driven by Mallory Flagor was northbound in the 2100 block of Main St. at 2:58 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Keshia Causey, who was also northbound, slowing down in traffic.

Someone broke into a vehicle at 717 Coolidge St. and stole items, it was reported Saturday.

Theft of a lawn ornament from 1321 Morton St. was reported Saturday.

Someone broke the mirror off a vehicle at 3607 10th St., it was reported Saturday.

A theft case was taken Saturday after a subject reportedly sold someone a surround sound system and then did not give the buyer the property.

A known person allegedly damaged someone’s property as the person was trying to move out at 722 Holland St., it was reported Saturday. A notice to appear in municipal court was signed and served.

A vehicle driven by Leo Sobba was eastbound on 10th St. in the inside lane in the 4300 block and started to turn right into a business driveway, and struck a vehicle driven by Joseph Ashbaugh Jr., who was eastbound on 10th in the outside lane.

Someone damaged the front door at 2100 28th St. and entered the residence, it was reported Sunday.

A $51 gas skip at 1315 10th St. was reported at 2:16 p.m. Sunday.

A known person allegedly stole an alternator from a car at 2517 Lakin Ave., it was reported Sunday.

A vehicle driven by Rhonda White was westbound on 10th St. at 4:15 p.m. Sunday and struck a vehicle driven by Derik Courson, who was northbound on McKinley. Courson refused medical treatment at the scene.

At 2:09 a.m. Monday, it was reported that a known person allegedly broke a window on the residence at 408 Almond St.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A storage shed at 210 North Washington Ave. was broken into last Wednesday night.

A vehicle hit a deer five miles east of U.S. 281 on SE 20 Road at 7:32 a.m. Friday.

A theft case from the jail was taken Friday.

Theft of the coil from an air conditioner at 601 North U.S. 281 was reported Friday.

Alex Crawford of Great Bend was arrested Friday evening after an altercation at 113 McKinley St., where he allegedly threatened someone with a loaded gun. He was booked into the Barton County Jail for aggravated battery, and was released on Saturday after posting a $20,000 surety bond.

A vehicle reportedly ran a Kansas Highway Patrol unit off the road in the 500 block of West Santa Fe Blvd., Ellinwood, at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, while the trooper had someone stopped. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence after a brief scuffle where he was taken to the ground and received a scrape on his face. This was an Ellinwood Police Department case with a supplement report.

Theft of a brass valve from oil tank batteries at NW 230 Road and NW 50 Ave. (half a mile south of the Russell County line) was reported Sunday.

A vehicle hit a stop sign at NE 60 Ave. and East U.S. 56, it was discovered Sunday.
