Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Monday.

There was a small ditch fire at noon at SW 80 Ave. and SW 40 Road, and a field fire at 6:45 p.m. at Liberty Road and SW 20 Ave.

At 9:10 p.m. there was an unauthorized burning at 306 Barton Dr.

At 3:07 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters extinguished some tires on fire at 247 East U.S. 56.

 

Great Bend Police

A car at 1617 Jefferson St. was broken into sometime Sunday night.

Theft of a Droid cell phone from 1220 1/2 Jefferson St. was reported Monday. Loss was $400.

A vehicle driven by Milton Achatz was eastbound on 10th St. near Taft at 2:12 p.m. Monday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Krystal Bohn, who was stopped in traffic and who then struck a vehicle driven by Walter Garrigues.

Deidra Meza-Torres was driving south in the 2900 block of Frey St. at 2:13 p.m. Monday and lost control of the vehicle, sliding into a ditch. She was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with minor injuries, and the vehicle was towed.

A burglary at 1703 Lakin was reported Monday. An Xbox 360 gaming system was taken. Loss was $400.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Unlawful use of a financial card on a Barton County business was reported Monday.

A non-injury rollover accident occurred around 2:05 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of NE 140 Road, half a mile east of Odin.
