Great Bend Fire/EMSFirefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday, Nov. 10, two on Friday, six on Saturday and six on Sunday.At 4:40 p.m. Thursday a grass fire was reported at Amerine Utilities, 252 SE 10 Ave. An employee extinguished the fire with a shovel before firefighters arrives.At 11:22 a.m. Friday firefighters checked on a carbon monoxide detector at 1316 Eisenhower. No CO was found; the detector was defective.At 12:07 p.m. Saturday units responded to 3402 Lakin where a vehicle hit a gas meter. The meter was shut off, and the gas company was contacted to repair it.
