Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday, Nov. 10, two on Friday, six on Saturday and six on Sunday.
At 4:40 p.m. Thursday a grass fire was reported at Amerine Utilities, 252 SE 10 Ave. An employee extinguished the fire with a shovel before firefighters arrives.
At 11:22 a.m. Friday firefighters checked on a carbon monoxide detector at 1316 Eisenhower. No CO was found; the detector was defective.
At 12:07 p.m. Saturday units responded to 3402 Lakin where a vehicle hit a gas meter. The meter was shut off, and the gas company was contacted to repair it.
At 1:48 p.m. Saturday units responded to 322 Cottonwood Dr. for an open burn that got out of control. The fire had jumped from a pile of trees to grass to the north and east. The grass fire was extinguished and the pile of trees was allowed to continue burning.
At 4:08 p.m. Saturday a unit responded to an unauthorized burn at 309 3rd St. (Third and Dogwood), where someone was burning trash in a 55 gallon drum.
Around 12:24 a.m. Sunday occupants at 3322 Railroad Ave. called 911 to report the CO detectors were all chirping. No CO was found; the batteries in the detectors were bad.

Barton County Sheriff
On Thursday morning, Nov. 10, a stolen vehicle was recovered in Ness County.
A sex offense was reported Friday.
A burglary was reported at 1000 Main St. in Albert.
A non-injury accident was reported at 6:06 p.m. Friday on East K-4, at mile marker 131.
A fight was reported at 8:19 p.m. Friday at 154 South Pine St. in Hoisington.
Non-injury accidents were reported at 9:14 p.m. Friday at Essex, 75 East K-4, Hoisington, and at 9:16 p.m. at mile marker 131 on East K-4.
Theft of a cattle feeder was reported at 897 NW 140 Road.
There was a pursuit at 2:49 a.m. Sunday in the area of NE 100 Road and NE 20 Ave.
A battery was reported Sunday morning at the Barton County Detention Center.
At 8:24 p.m. Sunday shots were heard in the 100 block of SW 10 Road. Subjects were located at 8:54 p.m. and advised to stop shooting guns for the night.

A burglary was reported Thursday, Nov. 10 at Vernon’s Auto Electric Rebuilders, 2624 24th St.
Someone put sugar in a gas tank at 1101 Eisehnower Ave.
Theft was reported at Walmart.
Theft from a vehicle was reported at 2344 Washington St.
A non-injury accident was reported at 11:10 a.m. Thursday at Broadway and Harrison.
A laptop found at Cervs, 1000 Main was turned over to police.
Criminal damage to property at 26th and Washington was reported Friday.
A non-injury accident was reported at 4:07 p.m. Friday at 3809 10th St.
A bike was reported stolen from 2704 20th St.
A non-injury accident was reported at 6:31 p.m. Friday at 10th St. and Kiowa Road.
An injury accident was reported at 1:56 a.m. Saturday at 10th and Pine.
An injury accident was reported at 9:33 a.m. Saturday at Holiday Inn Express, 3821 10th St. Vehicles were driven by Robert Dahmer and James Huntly III.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 1011 Wilson St., it was reported Saturday.
A sex offense was reported Saturday afternoon at Walnut Bowl, 3101 Washington St.
Theft of a bicycle from 2901 23rd St. was reported Saturday.
Criminal damage to property at Applebees, 3209 10th St., was reported Sunday.
After police were dispatched to 1206 Polk St. for a reported possible burglary in progress at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, Humberto Rincon was arrested on a warrant for violation of a restraining order.
