One person suffered non-life threatening injuries when the driver of a car lost control and it struck a tree south of Dundee Sunday afternoon.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, BCSO deputies responded to an injury crash near the diversion dam on SW 60 Ave. Upon arrival, deputies located a 1997 Honda Accord. Investigation indicates the driver, Gabrielle Wuller, 20, of Great Bend, entered a curve at an excessive rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree.

A passenger in the car, identified as Emily Wuller, 18, also of Great Bend, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus by the Great Bend Fire Department EMS. Gabrielle Wuller, the driver, and a third occupant of the vehicle, a female 13-year-old juvenile, were not injured in the collision. The juvenile was the only one wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Bellendir said.

Speed too great for conditions has been determined to be a contributing factor.
