Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters responded to eight Emergency Medical Service calls on Wednesday. There were no fires.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, 2920 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:37 p.m. at NE K-156 and East U.S. 56, Great Bend.


Great Bend Police

Police received a complaint of possible criminal damage to property on Wednesday after a vehicle parked at the Department of Children and Families, 1305 Patton Road, would not start and the caller believed her ex had something to do with it. She was advised of her options.

A possible fraud was reported when a caller said someone possibly used his debit card to buy items online. An outside agency assist case was taken.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:24 p.m. at Perkins. Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded because a City vehicle was involved.

A search warrant was executed at 1:40 p.m. at 1200 9th St. 

A caller had a question about a subject allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card in their own name.

A known person allegedly destroyed a computer at The Center for Counseling and Consultation, 5815 Broadway Ave. A notice to appear was signed and served.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:57 p.m. at K-96 and 10th St.

Theft of prescription medications was reported at River Bend Assisted Living, 3820 Broadway Ave.

A baggie with a powdery substance was found in the Dillons #3 parking lot at 1811 Main. It was booked into evidence.

An individual was transported to The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus around 11:52 p.m. after a reported overdose.
