Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Monday and seven Tuesday. On Tuesday they assisted Stafford County with a large fire in the northeast part of that county that spread into the northeast part of Barton County.

Barton County Sheriff
A semitrailer jackknifed at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday on K-96 near NW 10 Road. No one was injured but traffic was blocked for a time.
The window on a backhoe at SE 20 Road and SE 50 Ave. was damaged.
A vehicle hit a calf at 11 p.m. Tuesday on NE 50 Road and NE 150 Ave.
A deer ran into the driver’s side door of a vehicle at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday on NE 30 Road and NE 50 Ave.

Great Bend Police
On Tuesday, Joseph Villarreal, Great Bend was served a notice to appear in municipal court for allegedly shoplifting at Walgreen’s, 3920 10th St. He was later arrested at Casey’s General Store, 1315 10th St., and booked on outstanding warrants with a $1,000 surety bond on each warrant.
A yard decoration was taken from 2815 Broadway Ave.
Vehicles driven by Lucille Lewis and Richard Franklin collided at 11:11 a.m. Tuesday at 12th and Jackson St.
Vehicles driven by Richard Musil and Jeff Heine collided at 5:01 p.m. in the 1400 block of Broadway.
An officer responded to a reported narcotic offense at 12:34 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Firethorn St.
