Barton County Sheriff
Wednesday morning, a man from Hancock, Iowa, reported buying expensive saddles and related tack from “somewhere in Kansas” for very little money, which he considered suspicious. Asked why he called Barton County, he said he is from Dodge City and knows there are several feed yards in this area. There were no markings that would lead the reporting party to believe the saddles were from Barton County. He was “advised ... that Kansas is a big state,” and since he was unsure of where they came from, BCSO was unable to help him.
There was a report of four-wheelers driving through a fence in the 300 block of SW 50 Ave.
A motorist reported being stuck on K-156 near NE 40 Road at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, after the vehicle’s hood flew up.
