Vehicle impounded after pursuit
At 12:04 a.m. Wednesday, two officers from the Great Bend Police Department attempted to stop a 1998 Chrysler Sebring for alleged speeding and failing to signal a turn. There was a brief pursuit until the vehicle wrecked into a fence in the 2900 block of Lakin Ave. (near Madison St.) and the driver fled on foot. The vehicle was impounded. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist.

Firefighters made five ambulance runs Tuesday. There were no fires.

A non-injury accident was reported at 12:46 p.m. Tuesday, 2 miles west of Hoisington on Keystone Road. A pickup was on fire.
Items were reported missing from 126 NW 200 Road, north of Susank.
A vehicle hit a deer at 2:57 a.m. Wednesday on South U.S. 281 and SE 30 Road.
Great Bend Police
At hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 2400 block of 19th St., it was reported Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Lynn Aumiller was eastbound in the 2600 block of Broadway at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday and lost the left front tire, causing damage to the street.
A vehicle driven by Deborah Webster struck a building at 1802 22nd St. at 3:05 p.m.
A cell phone was reportedly stolen at 2027 Morton St.
