Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters were dispatched to 309 Buckeye St., where a man was burning leaves in his yard, at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday. The fire was put out and a police officer explained that burning leaves in town is illegal.
GBFD had six Emergency Medical Service calls Tuesday.

A vehicle driven by Rocio Moreno backed into a vehicle driven by Angelca Gonzalez at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday on 16th St.
A purse was stolen from a vehicle at 2915 26th St.
Cash was stolen from a woman’s purse, at 1901 Main.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer on North U.S. 281 and NW 220 Road at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Janeen Cox went off roadway in the 100 block of NE 90 Ave. at 11:49 a.m. Tuesday and overturned one time.
A GMC pickup struck the entryway to Hillcrest Cemetery at 3:42 p.m. Judy A. Shaw-Nitzel was arrested for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
A vehicle hit a deer at 6:15 p.m., two miles west of Claflin on K-4.
A car hit a deer at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, on North U.S. 281 and K-4
