Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters had five Emergency Medical Service calls on Wednesday.
At 10:05 a.m. they were dispatched to 1801 Second St., where a propane leak had caused a fire in a small trailer used for cooking. Loss was estimated at $2,500.
There was also one false alarm.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle driven by Manuel Ochs hit a deer on K-96 at mile post 164 at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday.
A barbecue grill was stolen from a residence at 536 SE 50 Road, in a burglary reported Wednesday.
A gas skip for $93.27 reportedly occurred at 3907 Broadway Ave. in Great Bend around 8:33 p.m. The suspect was a “college age” male in a white truck with blue stripes and a missing tailgate.

Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Andra Holman was backing from a private drive at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle driven by Bertille Herrman, who was southbound in the 2300 block of McKinley.
A woman in the 1700 block of Holland St. contacted police Wednesday afternoon and reported her husband had attacked her with a broken beer bottle and threatened to kill her. Diego Moctezuma was arrested in the 3900 block of Forest Ave. and booked into jail on charges of aggravated battery and criminal threat. Bond was set at $20,000.
Theft of a coat from Great Bend High School was reported. Loss was $70.
A gas skip at 3907 Broadway was reported at 8:56 p.m. The suspect vehicle was an older Ford truck and the license tag number was provided.
