Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs on Friday, three on Saturday and nine on Sunday.
There were two fire calls on Friday. At 12:04 p.m. units responded to 6028 Broadway for a CO check where nothing was found and at 7:23 p.m. units respond to 3013 27th street for a report of a power transformer on fire. While en route dispatch informed us that the fire was now out. Units arrived on scene and were able to locate the affected power line pole. The line running from the pole to the affected house had detached from the transformer falling to the back yard rendering it non energized. The power company was notified.
On Saturday there was one fire call. At 1:41 p.m. units responded to 3621 24th St. for a small fire in the oven that was out however the residents wanted it checked.
On Sunday there were two fire calls. At 11:15 a.m. units responded to 1401 Cherry Lane for an automatic alarm. Upon arrival found that the roof was leaking and water was running out of one of the detectors. Units reset the alarm and checked the attic and nothing was found. At 2:50 p.m. units responded to 1324 Kansas Avenue for a report of smoke coming from the back of the building. Units found a fire in piles of paper in the back portion of the building. Access to the area of the fire was limited due to the instability of the back wall. The fire was extinguished and the investigation is continuing this morning when the fire Marshall’s office arrives.

Theft of money was reported on Jefferson Street.
Fraud was reported at 2601 Coronado Ave. An unknown subject called stating they were from the IRS.
Fraud was reported at 2614 Paseo Drive. An unknown subject called stating they were from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.
Fraud was reported at 4107 10th St. A unknown subject called stating they were from the Sheriff’s Office.
A non-injury accident was reported at 2625 26th St.
Fraud was reported at 2233 Cleveland Ave. A unknown subject called stating they were from the Sheriff’s Office.
An injury accident was reported at Lakin Avenue and Eisenhower Avenue. A vehicle jumped the curb in the 2100 Block of Washington Avenue. Striking a phone box at Lakin and Washington. Then striking a tree at the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital by the squad.
Theft was reported at Bass X located at 1919 Main st.
A burglary was reported at 5850 Cherry Place.
A burglary was reported at 1438 12th St.
Theft of a Carhart coat was reported at Best Western Angus Inn located at 2920 10th St.

Burglary was reported at 2027 Morton St. A vehicle was broken into and two firearms were stolen.
