Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Tuesday. There were two fire calls. At 8 a.m. Tuesday morning units responded to 702 Odell for a smoldering unattended fire pit. The fire was extinguished.
At 6:51 a.m. Wednesday morning units responded to 1711 Hubbard for a report of smoke coming from the garage.
Upon arrival found a single car detached garage that had heavy smoke showing. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and the fire was quickly extinguished.
The garage was used as a wood shop and the fire caused extensive damage to the structure and contents.
After the fire was extinguished an investigation was conducted by the GBFD along with the State Fire Marshalls office.
The fire cause is believed to be associated with the electrical system. Crews were on the scene for about 1 hour.

Great Bend Police
Criminal damage was reported at 413 Buckeye St. Solar lights were damaged in a yard.
Criminal damage was reported at 1100 Baker Ave. Windows in a residence were broken out.
Fraud was reported at 806 Odell St. Possible phone scam.
Fraud was reported at 3503 10th St. Reporting party received a fake $100 bill.
A non-injury accident was reported at 3503 10th St.
A non-injury accident was reported at 4708 10th ST.
Burglary was reported at 1608 Holland St.
Burglary was reported at 1318 Frey St. Items taken from a residence.
An injury accident was reported at 19th St. A vehicle was northbound on Kansas and struck another vehicle which was eastbound on 19th and failed to stop at the stop sign.

Barton County Sheriff
Criminal damage was reported at 384 N Washington Ave.
Burglary was reported at 91 NW 120 Ave in Albert. Items stolen from a barn and shed.
A non-injury accident was reported at 540 SW 50 Ave. A vehicle hit a deer.
