Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made five Emergency Medical Service calls on Thursday. There were no fires.

Other fires
A fire in a machine shop at 963 NE 200 Road, rural Claflin, was reported at 3:39 p.m. Thursday.

Great Bend Police
Theft of checks from 2231 Morton St. was reported Thursday.
A burglary was reported at 2203 30th St. A subwoofer, bicycle and other items were taken.

Barton County Sheriff
Hay bales were stolen from NE 10 Ave. and NE 160 Road, it was reported Thursday.
A burglary in progress was reported at 9:53 p.m. Thursday when two males were allegedly stealing iron SE 50 Road and SE 160 Ave.
