Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Tuesday, four Wednesday and two Thursday.
At 7:29 p.m. Tuesday, units responded to a structure fire at 1514 11th St., where they found a small piece of wood trim smoldering around the entrance of the crawl space. The homeowner arrived at the scene and said that he was there earlier in the day thawing some waterlines in the crawl space.
There was also one false alarm on Tuesday.
At 4:30 p.m. Wednesday they responded to 1305 Macarthur for a carbon monoxide alarm, but found no CO.

Great Bend Police
A theft by deception case was taken Thursday after an employee allegedly used a company credit card.
A known person allegedly took an individual’s credit card and phone.
A vehicle driven by Nakota Allen went off Morton Street at 25th at 3:43 p.m. Thursday and struck a curb, utility pole, curb, fence and tree.
A vehicle driven by Monica Ringering was eastbound in the 4100 block of 10th St. at 3:44 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Louis Pierce, who was stopped in traffic.
A Dillon’s employee at 1811 Main St. reported finding a Vision card and Kansas driver’s license.
A known person allegedly stole gummy worms from Dollar General, 1701 Main St., and was served a notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court. He received another NTA for allegedly stealing a book.
A burglary was reported at 1514 11th St. Someone stole a handgun.
Theft from a residence at 6006 Rosewood Dr. was reported.

Barton County Sheriff
On Thursday, Rush County law enforcement requested Barton County Sheriff’s Office check a rural area for a stolen steel tank, 12 feet in diameter and 30 feet long. The tank is rusty brown and on a pipe skid with 34-inch valve and a ladder on one side. The company name “Abercrombie” is stamped on it but is very faded.
