Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Monday. A car fire was reported at 4:54 p.m. at 3923 Broadway Ave. A sport utility vehicle was smoking under the hood but there was no fire.

Great Bend Police
An injury accident was reported at 11:43 a.m. Monday after a west-bound vehicle on 16th St. driven by Alysia Zook struck a vehicle driven by Darlene Wadsworth, who was southbound on Kansas Ave.
A vehicle driven by Loralei Weller was eastbound on 10th St. at 1:36 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Ricky Phelps, who was stopped in traffic.
A driverless vehicle backed into a sign post at 1907 Washington at 2:51 p.m.
Police were dispatched to 113 Locust St. at 3:29 p.m. when an unknown person was seen ripping siding off a shed. Damage was $50 and citations were issued for criminal damage to property.
An injury accident was reported at 4:12 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Maria D. Garay-Najera was turning left in the 400 block of Grapevine and reportedly failed to yield right of way, causing a southbound vehicle driven by Mark Ukens to strike her vehicle.
A gun was found on 21st St. Monday night. It was booked as “found property.”

Barton County Sheriff
Theft of brass from 610 Bend Ave. was reported Friday.
A vehicle hit a deer on NW 120 Ave. and NW 140 Road at 7:31 p.m. Friday.
A stop sign at SE 60 Ave. and SE 20 Road was pushed out of the ground by a vehicle, it was discovered Saturday morning. There was also a stop sign down at SE 50 Road and SE 60 Ave.
A vehicle hit a deer on North U.S. 281 and NE 60 Road at 12:12 p.m. Sunday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
Someone broke into a garage at 1244 NW 50 Ave., it was reported Monday night. No property was found missing but there was damage.
