Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made four ambulance runs Tuesday.
There was a house fire at 8:52 a.m. at 1108 Morton St.
At 2:54 p.m. units responded to 1205 8th St. for a cooking fire. Occupants said they had started the oven and did not know that a box of pizza had been left inside. The box started on fire and smoked up the residence. There was no damage.

Great Bend Police
Checks were stolen from a file cabinet at 2701 24th St., it was reported Tuesday.
An employee at 1221 10th St. reported receiving fake currency.
Someone cut the padlock on a storage unit at 1013 Stone St. and went through items inside.
After a domestic alteration in the 5500 block of Eisenhower Ave., a notice to appear in court was issued for criminal damage/domestic violence.
Vehicles driven by Sheri Furby and Stacy Rocha collided at 6:38 p.m. on 18th St.
An identity theft case was taken after someone opened and account in a Great Bend resident’s name.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday on East U.S. 56 and NE 70 Ave.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A woman driving a Peterbilt semitrailer was taken to Ellsworth County Hospital on Wednesday, after the rig went off K-156 at 4:22 a.m., 7 miles north of Ellsworth. After the semi left the roadway, it struck an embankment, continued northeast, crossed a creek and came to rest in a pasture. Driver Cu Wong Peacock, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, was wearing a seat belt.
