Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Thursday.
At 8:22 p.m. they responded to the 400 block of U.S. 281 (N. U.S. 281 and NE 50 Road) for a small grass fire in the ditch. It was already out, with the exception of a few hot spots.

Great Bend Police
Theft of items was reported Thursday at Johnson’s Smokehouse, 1624 10th St.
A gun was reportedly stolen from 2237 Canterbury Lane.
Theft from a vehicle at Walmart was reported. Loss was $50.
Steven A. Wilkinson, Great Bend, was driving west in the 3300 block of 21st St. at 2:45 p.m. Thursday and allegedly struck a parked vehicle. He then fled on foot and was located by a Kansas Highway Patrol officer. He was arrested on charges that included driving under the influence of alcohol, and was released after posting bond.
A vehicle was broken into at 2027 Morton St. and a wallet was taken. The victim’s debit card was used on the Internet multiple times.
At 12:07 a.m. Friday, it was reported that a hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle  in the 1100 block of Main.
A vehicle driven by Cody Bryant hit a utility pole at 29th and Williams St. at 1:55 a.m. Friday.
