Firefighters made four ambulance runs Monday.
At 9:47 p.m. units responded to a grass fire in the area described on the police log as “10th St.” and by Fire Chief Mike Napolitano as the U.S. 281 Bypass, “close to the old scales.” Napolitano said police caught or had information about subjects that were trying to set the wheat field on fire.
An arson case was taken by the Great Bend Police Department, but no additional information was provided on Tuesday.

A known person was served a notice to appear in municipal court on Monday for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart, 3503 10th St.
An iPod was reportedly stolen at 2027 Morton St.
Prescription medication was reportedly stolen from a residence at 208 Locust St.

A “Bridge Out” sign at NE 30 Road and NE 80 Ave. was stolen, it was reported Monday.
Gardening chemicals at 1618 NE 90 Ave. were reportedly stolen over the weekend.
Items were reportedly stolen from 961 NW 40 Ave.
A deputy was dispatched to the jail to take a theft report.
A vehicle hit a deer at 9:28 p.m. Monday on U.S. 56, a couple of miles west of Dundee.
