Great Bend Fire/EMS
A 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette van was totaled by fire around 5:48 p.m. Tuesday. Christina Kober, Great Bend, said she was driving east on west U.S. 56 when, around SW 30 Ave., the van started smoking and she pulled over and got out. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the engine compartment and the passenger compartment.
Firefighters also made four ambulance runs on Tuesday.

Barton County Sheriff
Two horses and two goats were in the ditch just before 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of South  U.S. 281 (half a mile north of SE 60 Road).
A possible injury accident was reported at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday on NE 80 Ave. and East U.S. 56. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
A vehicle hit a deer at 9:42 p.m. at SW 42 Road and SW 50 Ave.

Great Bend Police
Vehicles driven by Rebecca Soeken and Richard Davis collided at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday at 16th and Adams St.
Vehicles driven by Honey Keener and Dee Duryee collided at 9:59 a.m. in the 700 block of Washington St.
A vehicle driven by Crystal Wilson struck a pole at 5:18 p.m. in the 1200 block of Eighth St.
