Great Bend Fire/EMSA 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette van was totaled by fire around 5:48 p.m. Tuesday. Christina Kober, Great Bend, said she was driving east on west U.S. 56 when, around SW 30 Ave., the van started smoking and she pulled over and got out. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the engine compartment and the passenger compartment.Firefighters also made four ambulance runs on Tuesday.Barton County SheriffTwo horses and two goats were in the ditch just before 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of South U.S. 281 (half a mile north of SE 60 Road).A possible injury accident was reported at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday on NE 80 Ave. and East U.S. 56.
