Barton County Sheriff
Darian Hudson was driving a 1988 Chrysler in the 100 block of NE 10 Road at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday and went into the ditch, striking the embankment.
Michael Colburn contacted the sheriff’s office at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday to report a non-inury or minor injury accident that occurred two hours earlier, on NW 110 Road and NW 40 Ave. (west of Hoisington). He was driving a Chevrolet Silverado and didn’t realize the roadway was so steep; after crossing the railroad tracks the pickup bottomed out and the driver’s mouth hit the steering wheel.
A Chevrolet van hit a deer in the 100 block of SE 105 Ave., just south of Ellinwood, at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday.

Great Bend Police
Theft of a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer from 2646 Main was reported Wednesday morning. It was recovered later in the day on 29th St.
Jim Stiets was driving south on McKinney St. at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and struck James Brumfield, who was eastbound on 10th St. on a bicycle. Brumfield refused medical treatment at the scene.
A vehicle driven by Delores Lane backed into a parked vehicle in the 2000 block of 18th St. at 2:33 p.m.
A burglary at 1216 Truman St. was reported Wednesday. A 52-inch flat-screen TV was taken and a door frame was damaged.
A motorist in a dark-colored Pontiac allegedly stole gas from 1315 10th St. at 6:37 p.m.
Theft of a small trailer from 906 Hickory St. was reported Thursday.
A burglary at 832 Pine Pl. was reported Thursday.
A theft case was taken after a Great Bend resident reported receiving a phone call that a family member had been kidnapped in Mexico, and sent money via Western Union.
A known person was given a notice to appear in municipal court, after allegedly shoplifting at 5318 10th St.
Officers responded to a domestic call at 2203 27th St. at 5:57 p.m. Thursday. Mercades Mater, 20, was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and minor in consumption.
Steven Archuleta, who had an outstanding warrant out of Douglas County, was reportedly located on 12th St. at 2:11 a.m. Friday. He fled on foot and was located in a storm shelter at 2228 12th St.
