Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made seven ambulance runs on Friday, 11 Saturday, 10 Sunday and six Monday.At 5:27 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to Lakin and Main, to check on a strong propane odor. A propane truck driving through was venting.There was a false alarm Saturday morning when a smoke detector went off at 2501 Canterbury Lane.At 10:09 a.m. Saturday there was a tree stump on fire at 2807 Morton St. There was also a water leak in a basement at 253 West Barton County Road at 9:37 p.m. Saturday.On Sunday there was a small fuel spill at 1101 Main at 7:52 p.m. and a short in a wire at 1110 Heizer St. at 8:14 p.m. There was also a short in a dishwasher at 2400 Shawnee Drive at 9:39 p.m., which caused the house to fill with smoke.A dishwasher overheated and was sparking at 6:25 a.m. Monday at 810 Frey St., and there was a false alarm caused by a system malfunction at 7:44 p.m. at 1201 Patton Road.Great Bend PoliceA vehicle driven by Dunia Cortez was westbound on Broadway at 7:54 a.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Susan Stambaugh at Washington. Stambaugh was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital.A Chevy Camaro at 1810 Hubbard St. was keyed.
