GBFD
Firefighters were dispatched to Barton County Special Service (the former Washington School) at 2535 Lakin Ave. at 8:39 a.m. Wednesday for a cooking fire caused by a short in electrical wiring on the stove. It was out before they arrived.
Units responded to a trash fire at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday at 350 North U.S. 281. They found a fire close to a shed, and a grass fire that started over the fence from a flying ember. Chief Mike Napolitano said the fires was the result of an unauthorized burn at 350 North U.S. 281.
Emergency Medical Service made seven ambulance runs Wednesday and seven Thursday.

BCSO
At 7:16 a.m. Thursday a woman reported her son had a wreck in the 1100 block of SE 20 Road.
A car hit a deer at 10:22 a.m. on NW 190 Road and NW 80 Ave.

GBPD
A vehicle driven by Renee Miller struck a parked vehicle in the 1900 block of 10th St. at 10:04 a.m. Thursday.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at Z’s Liquor Mart, 2010 10th St.
Two hoodies were reportedly stolen from Hibbett Sports, 3709 10th St. A woman was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
Vehicles driven by Nancy Wetig and Rebecca Pouty collided at 3:24 p.m. on 24th St.
An employee at Payless Shoes, 3511 10th St. Suite 7, reported theft of shoes.
A vehicle driven by Justin Schartz struck a parked vehicle at 7:21 p.m. in the 2500 block of Seventh St.
At 7:22 p.m., a Great Bend Police officer responded to Kiowa Kitchen, 214 East Barton County Road, and took a battery case, as an outside agency assist for the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
At 2:26 a.m. Friday, an individual at Love’s store, 1221 10th St., reported an unknown woman stealing an unknown item.
