Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer at 8:20 a.m. Saturday on SE 30 Road at SE 60 Ave. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
A 10-year-old male was rushed to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington by a private vehicle late Saturday morning after a firearm accident that occurred about four miles from town on NW 220 Road. The boy was burned and had powder in his eyes after the shell in a .22 Marlin rifle didn’t fire and the chamber was open.
Cris Collier was driving a Ford Escape on NE 70 Road at NE K-156 at 9:41 p.m. Saturday and hit a deer. KHP responded.
A burglary at a Barton Community College dorm room was reported at 2:57 a.m. Sunday. The occupant said he came home around 2:50 a.m. and discovered someone had gone through his room. A PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and three games were taken.
Pam Jordan was driving a Buick LeSabre on East U.S. 56 and was struck by a deer near milepost 209 at 8:14 p.m. Sunday.
A 15-year-old male was taken to St. Rose Urgent Care in Great Bend after being bitten by a family poodle in Pawnee Rock late Sunday. He reportedly suffered minor injuries to his lip, nose and cheek.
Josh Martens reported hitting a deer with a Ford Econoline van on East U.S. 56 and NE K-156, around 2:22 a.m. Monday. The van was driveable but damaged.

Great Bend Police
A known person allegedly stole food valued at $21.52 from Dillon’s Store No. 51, at 4107 10th St., Thursday night.
A vehicle driven by Charles Lisenby was southbound on Buckeye St. turning east onto Fourth at 6:40 a.m. Friday and struck a sign.
A vehicle driven by Carry Buess was southbound turning west onto Broadway at 9:39 a.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Ilene Walcher, who was westbound on Broadway.
A known person allegedly keyed a 2010 Chevy Camaro, Friday afternoon at Great Bend High School.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 1400 block of 12th St.
A vehicle driven by Seth Leech was westbound on 12th St. at 4:50 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Josh Bauer, who was northbound on Main.
A vehicle driven by Larry Tournear was northbound on McKinley at 5:55 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Kristin Ohnmacht, who was stopped in traffic at 10th St.
A motorist in a gray pickup left 5200 10th St. at 7:34 a.m. Saturday without paying for fuel.
A disturbance at 619 Main was reported at 6:12 p.m. Saturday. Kyle Wiley was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of criminal damage to property, theft and disorderly conduct.
Theft of fuel from 2334 Main was reported at 9:56 p.m.
Tyler Brown and Cameron Glendenning were arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:31 a.m. Sunday, after reportedly getting into a fight in front of Maggie’s bar, 1318 Kansas Ave. Both were released after posting $250 bonds.
A gas skip at 2716 10th St. was reported at 6:12 p.m. Sunday.
A vehicle driven by Edger Flores was eastbound in the 600 block of Fifth St. at 9:53 p.m. Sunday when the brakes failed and the vehicle hit a tree.
Eric Buckley was arrested Sunday night at 3900 Forest Ave., for alleged domestic battery, battery of a law enforcement officer, obstruction and criminal damage to property.
