Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Friday, nine Saturday and five Sunday.
There was one false alarm Friday. At 7:39 a.m. Saturday they responded to the Kwik Shop at 3907 Broadway Ave. where gasoline had spilled around the gas pump.
At 1:19 p.m. Sunday, a truck was dispatched to 1302 Monroe where a small patch of grass and pampas grass had burned and melted some of the plastic fence. Another area had also been burned. The occupants had already extinguished the fire. They said they were inside and heard a crackling and came outside to find their grass on fire. The police took a miscellaneous case.
Barton County Sheriff
A stolen vehicle was recovered in Ellsworth County, and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 5:32 a.m. Friday.
Plates were taken off a vehicle at 4 NW 30 Road Area 11.
At noon Friday, a motorist reported hitting a deer at NW 80 Ave. and NW K-96, Thursday night in the rain.
The back window on a 2003 Envoy at 348 N. Washington Ave. was broken.
A vehicle hit a deer on West K-4 between Bison and Otis at 6:37 p.m. Friday, causing the air bags to deploy.
A Chevy Malibu owned by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation hit a deer at 9:29 p.m. on K-156 and NE 80 Road, 5 miles from Cheyenne Bottoms, damaging the bumper and the driver door, which could not be opened.
A Jeep Commander hit a deer at 4:33 a.m. Saturday on West K-4 and NW 120 Ave.
A fight was reported at 3:35 a.m. Sunday at 166 South U.S. 281.
Theft of items at the old fuel station half a mile east of Albert (NW K-96 and NW 120 Ave.) was reported Sunday.
At 1:35 p.m., a caller advised at silver GMC truck reported stolen last week was parked at the west end of the Dillons parking lot, 4107 10th St. in Great Bend.
A Hyundai Sonata hit a deer at 350 NE 30 Road at 8:35 p.m. Sunday
A vehicle hit a deer at U.S. 281 and NE 30 Road prior to 8:54 p.m.

Video cords were cut and electrical wire taken from Great Bend Co-op, 606 Main, it was reported Friday.
A possible injury accident was reported at 3:19 p.m. outside Great Bend High School in the 2100 block of Morton St. when vehicles driven by two juvenile motorists collided. One of the vehicles struck a legally parked third vehicle, which left the scene.
Vehicles driven by Bruce Avery and Sylvia Deslauriers collided at 4:47 p.m. at 10th and Van Buren St.
A burglary was reported at the police station. The victim said a cell phone had been stolen from his vehicle.
Lottery tickets were stolen from Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St.
A narcotics overdose was reported at 11:39 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Sixth St.
A possible injury accident was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Jackson St. A vehicle driven by Donna Rine struck two parked vehicles.
Theft at Hejny Retail Liquor Store, 821 Main St., was reported Saturday afternoon.
Shawn Wear reported a non-injury accident in the 800 block of 10th St. at 3:15 p.m., involving himself and an unknown motorist.
Two shoplifting cases were reported at Walmart, 3503 10th St.
Vehicles driven by Sheyanne Bethal and Elisa Y Lopez-Ruiz collided at 9:21 p.m. Saturday at 12th and Frey St.
At 12:23 a.m. Sunday, an individual reported his vehicle tag being stolen from 3503 10th St. It was recovered by the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
A female shoplifter was reported at 5:01 a.m. at Love’s, 1221 10th St.
A black bike was found at 410 Washington St. and booked into evidence.
A gas skip involving a blue Pontiac was reported at 8:52 p.m. Sunday at 2334 Main St.
