Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs Tuesday. There were no fires.

Barton County Sheriff
Sometime between late Friday night and early Tuesday, approximately $10,000 worth of tools were stolen from a service truck at 463 South Main, Hoisington, it was reported Tuesday.
A vehicle hit a deer around 7:35 a.m. Tuesday on SE 20 Road and Se 60 Ave., causing the air bags to deploy. The driver reportedly hurt her right hand but did not want Emergency Medical Service; it was recorded as a non-injury accident. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
A vehicle hit a deer at 8:07 a.m. at 40 Ave. and NE 30 Road. KHP responded.
A Toyota minivan and an oilfield truck hit a deer at 9:48 a.m. at SE 90 Ave. and SE 20 Road (between Great Bend and Ellinwood on the Two Mile Blacktop). Two deputies responded.
A truck backed into a car at 161 North U.S. 281 at 3:26 p.m.
Deputies and the Golden Belt Humane Society responded to 3725 2nd St., Great Bend, at 6:45 p.m. when a large German shepherd dragging a chain was seen tangled up in trees in the area.
An attempted burglary at 608 Windmill Lane was reported at 12:54 a.m. Wednesday.

Great Bend Police
A hit-and-run accident was reported at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday; a tractor-trailer hit two cars in a parking lot at Ernie’s Bar & Grill, 619 Main, Great Bend. The rig was located at Doonan Truck east of Great Bend at 12:52 p.m. as a BCSO deputy and a GBPD officer responded. The police log shows the driver as Micheal Emery.
Theft of beer from the Kwik Shop, 2334 Main, was reported at 11:40 p.m. Suspects left in a tan pickup and a tag number was supplied to law enforcement.
