Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs on Friday, five on Saturday and three on Sunday. There were three fire calls.
On Saturday at 7:24 p.m. units responded to 3600 22nd for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, units found a pickup truck pulled to the side of the road that had smoke coming out of the engine compartment.
The hood was open and smoke was coming out of the truck. Firefighters sprayed a small amount of water on the area that was burning. It appeared that the fire started in the area of where fuel lines were running in the rear of the engine compartment. A bystander had used a fire extinguisher on the area prior to units arrival.
On Sunday at 8:44 p.m. units responded to 1415 16th St. for fire in the back yard that had embers flying out of the yard. Units found a small pile of burnt papers that the occupant had been burning. The fire was extinguished.
At 1:12 a.m. the Fire Department received a request from Ellinwood fire to assist with water supply at a large structure fire.

A non-injury accident was reported at 10th and Monroe St.
Theft of a bicycle was reported at Great Bend High School located at 2027 Morton St.

A non-injury accident was reported at 1815 8th St.

Theft was reported at A440 Music located at 1207 Main St.

Oct. 29
An injury accident was reported at 230 North Washington Ave.
Theft of a trailer and tools was reported in Claflin.
Theft of a wedding ring and pills was reported at 457 Kiowa Road.
A non-injury accident was reported at mile marker 134 on K-156.

Oct. 30
A non-injury accident was reported at mile marker 114 on U.S. 281.
