Great Bend Fire/EMS

There were four Emergency Medical Service calls and no fires on Thursday.


Barton County Sheriff

A fire was reported at 5:42 a.m. Thursday at NE 170 Road and NE 110 Ave., rural Claflin. Three oil tank batteries were on fire after being struck by lightning.

A theft was reported in the 400 block of SW 20 Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:33 p.m. at Little Giant Fittings Co., 11 NE 50 Ave., Great Bend.

A burglary in progress was reported at 10:05 p.m. at 1712 3rd St., Great Bend.

A fight was reported at 12:49 a.m. Friday in the 2500 block of 12th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:58 a.m. Thursday at MGM Properties, 1316 Garfield St.

A theft case was taken after fraud was reported at 1818 Apollo Ave.

A burglary with theft was reported at a residence at 1021 Roosevelt St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:09 p.m. at Broadway and Kansas.

An injury crash was reported at 4:20 p.m. at 10th and McKinley.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:58 p.m. at Dillon’s No. 51, 4107 10th St.

Theft of a cell phone was reported at Burger King, 3929 10th St.

Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported at Century Villa Apartments, 809 Coolidge St.

A burglary in progress and a window possibly broken in the residence at 1712 3rd St. was reported at 10:05 p.m.

Police responded to a domestic battery reported late Thursday/early Friday in the 2500 block of 12th St. after a known person allegedly attempted to run over another person in a vehicle. He was arrested and booked into the Barton County Detention Center on Friday.
