Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service responded to 11 calls Tuesday, with another call canceled. Firefighters performed a carbon monoxide checks and responded to a chemical spill at 10th St. and the U.S. 281 Bypass at 11:53 a.m. A small white jug spilled on the roadway; the Barton County Noxious Weed Department also responded and collected it.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday at NW K-96 and NW 10 Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:56 p.m. in the 300 block of East K-4, Hoisington.

A burglary in progress was reported at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at 625 Bismark Ave., Pawnee Rock.


Great Bend Police

Some fence posts were stolen from the flood-control fence at the City Compost Site, 97 SW 5 Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday at the Kwik Shop, 2334 Main.

A subject took items from the Dollar General store, 2400 10th St., without paying.

A traffic arrest was made at 9:58 p.m. at 20th and Madison. The K-9 unit was deployed. Israel Donley of Great Bend was taken to the county jail and booked for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, obstruction and obstructed license tag. Bond was set at $10,000.
