Car stolen Saturday, recovered Sunday

A tan, 1994 Honda Accord was reported stolen outside Office Products Inc., 1204 Main, Saturday afternoon.
It was recovered at 3:43 a.m. Sunday at Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St., shortly after Albert Emil Hass was arrested at the store for outstanding warrants.
He was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of theft and habitual driver, and for two Great Bend Municipal Court warrants contempt of court. Bond on the theft charge was set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Suspect eludes capture
A man with an outstanding warrant was located by able to elude police on Sunday. A Great Bend Police officer reported locating Christopher Canton in the area of Harrison and Tyler streets at 4:43 a.m. Canton fled and was not located; his bicycle was booked as found property.
