Pursuit ends in arrest

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Great Bend male Saturday, following a pursuit that began at 6:36 p.m. on north U.S. 281 at mile marker 111 and continued into Barton Hills.

The suspect left the vehicle and disappeared into the woods. He was later picked up on Windmill Lane. Eric Duerksen was booked on three Barton County warrants for theft, probation violation, and failure to appear, as well as felony obstruction of official duty, flee and elude, speeding, exhibit of speed, failure to maintain lane, improper leave vehicle unattended, driving with no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
