Great Bend Fire

A fire was reported at 8:45 p.m. Friday at 2529 9th St. It was an unauthorized burning of pallets and was extinguished by the renter.

At 3:08 p.m. Saturday, witnesses reported hearing an explosion or fireworks and seeing fire at 23rd and Madison. A small area of pampas grass and bushes was blackened but there were no flames showing when firefighters arrived.

A fire was reported at 7:44 p.m. Saturday in a trash container on the north end of the parking lot at 5839 16th St. Terrace.

Firefighters received a report of a fire in the 1900 block of Jackson Street at 8:51 p.m. Saturday that was a false alarm. They then spent several minutes in the area checking on backyard fire pits.

A fire was reported at 3:08 p.m. Sunday at 364 NE 30 Ave., Great Bend, after fire from a burn barrel spread to the grass around it.

A fire was reported at 8:44 a.m. Monday but the unit was called back while en route.


Great Bend Police

A fraud case was reported Friday at Bauer computer, 3104 10th St.

The K-9 unit was dispatched to 24th and Morton shortly before 3 p.m. Friday. Bobbi Sowell was arrested on a warrant and also for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

A theft was reported at Walmart.

A battery was reported at 10:27 p.m. Friday at the Eagle Lodge, 1024 Main.

Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported at 10:27 p.m. Saturday at 1314 Hubbard St.

Police were dispatched to 1107 Holland St. at 4:10 a.m. Monday for a reported battery. A female was arrested on a warrant.


Barton County Sheriff

A theft was reported Friday at 5821 Anchor Way, Apt. A, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:34 p.m. Saturday at NW K-96 and NW 100 Ave.

The sheriff’s office assisted the Hoisington Police Department on a domestic call at 5:24 p.m. Sunday.
