Search warrant uncovers suspected narcotics

Officers and detectives with the Great Bend Police Department executed a search warrant for narcotics at a residence at 2416 16th St. around 9:20 a.m. Friday and then headed to the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St., where they arrested Deontre Hardiman, 21.

According to police reports, there has been an ongoing investigation of drug trafficking at the 2416 16th St. address. The search was completed around 9:45 a.m. and then they proceeded to the motel and arrested Hardiman without incident.

He was booked into the Barton County Detention Center on charges of distribution of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp. Hardiman was also arrested on two Great Bend Municipal warrants for failure to appear. He was booked in lieu of a $100,000 cash surety bond.
