Stabbing report leads police to drug paraphernalia
GBPD-patch-2016

Great Bend Police officers were notified Wednesday night of a possible stabbing victim at the University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus, but they’re still investigating what actually happened.

After hearing from the hospital around 8:37 p.m., police made contact with the victim, who had injuries consistent with being cut or stuck with a sharp object. However, he said the wounds were self-inflicted during a fight with a known male that occurred around 7 p.m. at Travelers Budget Inn.

According to police reports, the injured man was treated and released from the hospital. Later, two search warrants were executed at Travelers Budget Inn where drug paraphernalia was located. Due to the room being vacant, no arrests have been made at this time.

This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case or any other criminal matter is asked to contact the Great Bend Police Department by calling 620-793-4120 or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300.
