Officers from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people Friday afternoon after the discovery of suspected narcotics during a search of a Great Bend residence.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, at 3:30 p.m., BCSO detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at 5210 10th St., Apt. 9 in the city of Great Bend. Officers were looking for a suspected methamphetamine distribution point. When the occupants of the apartment failed to answer the door, officers forced entry.

Upon entry, deputies located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Bellendir said.

Three Barton County residents were arrested at the scene including: Kenneth Reed, 51, of Great Bend; Misty Bryant, 42, of Hoisington; and Michael Hurd, 44, of Great Bend. Reed was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp. Both Bryant and Hurd were arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine. Reed is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, while Bryant and Hurd are both being held on a $10,000 bond.
