HOISINGTON - A Hoisington woman was arrested Friday afternoon after a Barton County Sheriff’s Office search of a Hoisington residence led to the discovery of suspected narcotics.
According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, at around 3:30 p.m. BCSO deputies and detectives executed a search warrant at 272 W. Broadway in Hoisington. Detectives were looking for evidence of a suspected methamphetamine distribution location. Upon entry into the residence, officers located an unspecified quantity of suspected methamphetamine as well as other evidence to indicate distribution of methamphetamine.
Tammy Norwood, 42, of Hoisington was arrested at the scene and transported to the Barton County Jail where she was booked on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school (the residence is located about three blocks of Roosevelt Elementary School), possession of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp. She is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Bellendir indicated other suspects are being sought in connection with this investigation, and additional arrests are expected.
