THE CAR Texting while driving or any distracted driving for that matter is no joke. Its a serious danger to drivers, their passengers and other drivers.
Weve all seen the scared straight type ads, the ones that depict truly tragic accidents that likely couldve been prevented if a driver hadnt been texting while driving. And more often than not, those kinds of ads truly hit home.
But as the saying goes, theres more than one way to frost a cake. And the New Zealand Transport Agency sure has frosted a new and glorious cake.
In their recent ad called Hello, they do two things differently. First, they imply that its OK for passengers to intervene if the driver reaches for his or her cellphone, and second, the ad is lighthearted and even a little romantic.
Since the ad concept includes a small surprise element, I wont describe it further. Just know that it is truly delightful and everything you could hope for if you like Lionel Richie covers and safe driving.
